Research Interests: Coaxial electrospraying, electrospray thruster performance, next-generation space propulsion, plasma-assisted combustion

Bio:

Sarah is a Masters student in the Space Propulsion Lab. Originally from Redondo Beach, CA, Sarah graduated with Honors from Princeton University in 2024, with a B.S.E in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and certificates in Robotics & Intelligent Systems and Planets & Life. Her undergraduate thesis, “Design and Assessment of an AC-SDBD Plasma Reactor for Acceleration of the Deflagration to Detonation Transition in a Dimethyl Ether Electrofuel,” for which she received the Donald Janssen Dike Award for excellence in Undergraduate Research, focused on a new plasma-assisted combustion technology for applications to rotating and pulse detonation engines. Her current research focuses on applying coaxial electrospraying techniques to improve thruster performance and efficiency.
